
The Gorgon are mostly human, the only problem is their hair, a head of snakes. For normal humans their hair looks and acts normal. For those who’ve been to or seen the ‘Other’ this does not work and the Gorgons hair is revealed to them. A mass of writing small snakes that all seem to be sentient in their own right. Gorgon might even talk to their snakes at times for advice, this snake hair however is a completely other organism that has simply rooted itself in the Gorgon and they have a symbiotic relationship. If the Gorgon dies then the snake hair dies too.
Gorgon once upon a time may have been part snake on their lower half but that is no longer the case, they are in fact human for the most part save for attributes that would mark them as something supernatural.
Recommended Starting Age:
We recommend anywhere between 18 - 30 for a Gorgons starting age.
There are only three types of Gorgon, Lavender, Lime or Saffron. These are simply clan types based on the shade of snake scales of their head of 'hair'. The snakes themselves aren't much different other than allowing different types of magic.
Primarily lavender types will use either lightning or water type magic.
Lime type Gorgon will use earth or wind type magic.
Saffron types will use fire or light based magic.
This was once true, however with how diluted the gorgon gene pool has become it's incredibly rare to find a Gorgon whom can do this, not only that but those whom can are usually quick to anger and quick to turn to violence as an option, they're almost feral and are to be considered to be dangerous and a possible enemy.
They actually aren't natural archers, even if myths and legends depict them being amazing with a bow and arrow, they are good shots with ranged weapons but not all of them are good with a bow.
Gorgons don't really have any massive beliefs related to their species, though they do have a wariness of mirrors and reflective surfaces likely hailing back to the times of old.
Gorgons are the only ones who are able to pick and use another species ability they have an option from the list below of abilities to mimic.
Put the mark for the unique ability in whatever advantage area it would be for the species the ability is being taken from.
